Saw an AT&T truck in my neighborhood 2 days ago and spoke with the guy running the truck, he told me that AT&T gigapower will be available in my neighbohood anywhere from 4 - 6 months. Every neighborhood nearby in any direction from mine has above ground utilities and got ATT fiber ~4 years ago. I have never heard any news about our neighborhood eventually getting fiber. Most of my neighborhood has had fiber except the block on my street, even down the street has it. A fiber termination point across the street, but I am only offered 18 Meg bonded DSL. I have Comcast, but they seem to think 900 down/25 up is a good plan. My cloud backups are so slow. I think my house was one of the first in the neighborhood where they started, was also the first person to get fiber in my neighborhood lol.I have an AT&T fiber pole at the end of my driveway. A fiber termination point across the street, but I am only offered 18 Meg bonded DSL. I have Comcast, but they seem to think 900 down/25 up is a good plan. My cloud backups are so slow. I'd take 300/300 in a heartbeat. So distance is NOT my issue. Any thoughts?The fiber infrastructure has already been set up in my neighborhood. It's been about a month now. How long after the infrastructure is set up does it take for them to turn on service? I have called about this matter many times over the past few years but can’t get a straight answer. this past summer an ATT sales person came to my door and said it'd be available in my area in October of this year. 2 months past still no fiber in my area the max in my area is 75MBps. Every month I check the coverage map and when i pay my bill. I wonder if they meant October of 2020..
